Leigh Young is the owner, designer, and creative force behind Pandemonium Millinery — a Seattle-based boutique specializing in handcrafted faux fur hats, accessories, and winter apparel made in the USA. She founded Pandemonium in 1992 as a custom clothing design house, and over 30 years later, the brand remains a benchmark for quality, craftsmanship, and ethical fashion.
After earning an Apparel Design degree from Seattle Central Community College, Leigh immersed herself in every corner of the design industry. She launched her career creating Las Vegas-style showgirl costumes for Gregg Thompson Productions, then expanded her expertise into novelty and fine millinery with WE Hats — a line she now owns and designs for. All the while, she was showing her own original work at local fashion shows and charity events throughout Seattle.
Inspired by the impeccably dressed women of the 1920s and armed with years of hands-on experience, Leigh eventually focused full-time on her own line. She developed a signature aesthetic built around soft textures, faux furs, velvets, and tactile upholstery fabrics — creating hats, handbags, and fashion accessories that feel as luxurious as they look.
Today, the Pandemonium collection is available to wholesale buyers throughout the United States and Canada, and directly to shoppers through our online boutique. Every piece is still hand sewn in Seattle, WA, by a small, dedicated team paid living wages.
Pandemonium's workforce is a tight-knit group of family, friends, and long-time colleagues — diverse, multigenerational, and deeply skilled. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the team pivoted to produce over 70,000 masks for Providence Hospital, keeping the studio running and contributing to the community. That spirit of adaptability and care defines everything Pandemonium does.
